Five ongoing lecture series, taught at the mosque and streamed live on YouTube, with live translation into several languages through Baian.ai. Every session stays up afterwards in full, so you can follow along from anywhere, in your own language, whether or not you can be here in person.

Lectures
Five lecture series run through the week in Turkish and Arabic: tazkiya, tafsir, hadith, and a series each for women and for young adults.

Visiting scholars
Scholars who have taught here include Dr Issam al-Bashir, Sheikh Nabil al-Awadi, Dr Muhammad al-Awadi, Dr Abdulwahab Altirari and Yusuf Estes.

Lectures
Every session goes out live and stays online. Dr Ahmad Shakir's talk on the throes of death has been watched more than 160,000 times since.

All five series are taught at Hamza Mosque in Başakşehir.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Makhdoum

A journey through the stations of the spiritual path: the stages a believer passes through in drawing nearer to God, drawn from the classical literature on purification of the heart.

About the speaker: Dr. Mustafa Makhdoum holds a licence from the Islamic University of Madinah and a doctorate in usul al-fiqh awarded with first-class honours. He has taught in the department of Islamic studies and Arabic language at Taibah University in Madinah, and is the author of Qawa'id al-Wasa'il fi'l-Shari'a al-Islamiyya.

Prof. Dr. Hatem Abdel Azim

A weekly reading of selected passages of the Quran: what they meant to the people who first heard them, and what they ask of a reader today.

About the speaker: Prof. Dr. Hatem Abdel Azim is a professor of Islamic jurisprudence and its principles. He lectures widely, and his series on the Quran and on fiqh are published across a number of Islamic educational platforms.

Sheikh Dr. Abdul Wahab al-Turayri

A commentary working through the abridged Sahih al-Bukhari hadith by hadith: the chains of narration, the meanings, and the rulings and manners drawn from each report.

About the speaker: Dr. Abdul Wahab al-Turayri is a Saudi scholar and preacher. He graduated from the College of Usul al-Din at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, specialising in the sciences of hadith, and later joined its teaching faculty. He served as academic supervisor of the Islam Today foundation and editor-in-chief of its magazine, and has written extensively on the life of the Prophet. He now teaches at the Başakşehir Academy of Arabic and Islamic Sciences in Istanbul.

A monthly series for women on what should hold steady and what has to adapt: faith, family, and identity, approached through both scripture and counselling practice.

About the speaker: Dr. Hala Samir is a family and educational counsellor and a mental health consultant. She lectures and runs courses on the development of Muslim women and on family and child-rearing, and her talks are followed widely across the Arabic-speaking world.
